STB #266 - Be Inspired by a Book

Glenda has chosen a topping for this challenge that i had so much fun working with. I am in two book clubs and knew right where I was going with this challenge. 

I can't wait to see your take on it.

Here is my card and the story behind the book that I have been inspired by. 

The book that I recently read was The Spoon Stealer by Lesley Crewe.  The main character steals spoons from places or occasions that mean something to her. It is kind of like scrapbooking to crafters. There is a lot more to this story and I have to say that I loved the book and would recommend it to anyone. 

I Looked for a digital image of spoons and found one and printed out several. After fussy cutting them, I colored them to look more realistic and made a card. The sentiment is computer generated. Here are the other supplies that I used.

This challenge had me going to You Tube for inspiration and while there, I found this technique.

It is called the 2,4,6,8 card. You can find out about this yourself HERE

It is a great way to use up those 12 X 12 scrap paper sheets that you may have

Altenew July Inspiration Challenge

The Challenge for July at Altenew is Soft Watercolors. Michelle has chosen a beautiful picture of Hydrangeas from her garden 

This picture really inspired me and I looked up an older stamp and die from 

Altenew that I had not used at all. 

Using the Garden Hydrangea stamp and die I colored up these flowers in the 

softer colors for this challenge. 

Here is the card. 

I placed the die cut flowers and leaves on  

cardstock background that was dry embossed with Spellbinders diamond folder.  

The base is Gina K paper called Grass Green.  

I hand drew a stem to add to the arrangement.

Double D Challenge - The Great Outdoors

The Great Outdoors 

 Anything to do with the outdoors

think canoeing, camping, traveling, gardening, fishing, etc.

Diane has put together a great inspiration board for you on this challenge. 

                                                   

I was thinking about when we would camp out in our Volkswagen camper, and I produced this card. 

It is also the very first time that I have used this stamp!

I began with a watercolor paper base card. I swished some watercolor on the front to represent the sky and grass. That was easy and fun. While it was drying, I stamped the images from Art Impressions Retired, colored them and fussy cut them out. Isn't that dog cute? We did not have a dog when we camped. Also, funny that we camped when we were young and didn't have much money, after retirement, we up our travel plans a bit. Lol
